Welcome to "Allergy Resolutions" which introduces our Specialist, Professor Richard Powell and his team who offer a private clinical service across the Midlands. A large part of his practice is in allergic conditions for which he sees both adults and children. Case Study
For 4 weeks, a 32 year old woman has had attacks of hives all over her body (urticaria) sometimes associated with swelling of the lips and around the eyes.
Food triggers will be excluded by a careful and detailed history followed by allergy skin prick testing. Increased doses of antihistamines and other drugs will be considered if food allergy is not shown to be the trigger.
